About this opportunity:
As the Fleet Coordinator, you will play a crucial role in managing and optimizing our organisation's extensive fleet spread across Australia. This position requires a proactive individual with excellent organisational and communication skills, as well as a strong understanding of fleet management, procurement, and maintenance. You will be responsible for overseeing the entire life cycle of our vehicles, from acquisition to disposal, ensuring their efficient and cost-effective operation.

Key responsibilities of this role:
  • Fleet Operations - Plan and coordinate daily activities related to fleet operations, monitor vehicle usage to maximise efficiency, ensure compliance with all relevant regulations.
  • Maintenance Oversight - Collaborate with fleet team to schedule routine inspections and repairs for all fleet vehicles, implement preventive maintenance programs to extend the lifespan of fleet vehicles and reduce downtime.
  • Budget Management - Assist in the development and management of the fleet budget, considering capital costs and expenses such as fuel, maintenance, and repairs.
  • Vendor Relations - Establish and maintain relationships with suppliers, including fuel providers, auto repair shops, and parts suppliers, negotiate favourable terms and agreements with vendors to ensure cost-effectiveness and quality service.
  • Safety and Compliance - Implement and enforce safety policies and procedures for the organisation and regularly communicate with team members on these topics. Investigate and report all infringements and implement corrective actions to prevent future incidents.
  • Data Analysis and Reporting - Utilise fleet management software to track and analyse key performance indicators (KPIs), use data insights to identify areas for improvement and implement strategies to enhance overall efficiency.
  • Communication - Maintain clear communication channels within the fleet team and other relevant departments. Develop and maintain internal policies and procedures.

To succeed in this role you will have:
  • Proven experience in fleet management, procurement, and maintenance for a minimum of 3 years.
  • Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.
  • Excellent organisational and multitasking abilities.
  • Knowledge of relevant regulations and compliance standards.
  • Proficient in using fleet management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong interpersonal skills that demonstrate professional assertiveness in ensuring deadlines are met and outcomes achieved.
  • Valid unrestricted QLD driver's license.
  • Hold or be eligible to apply for Working with Children Blue Card.
