FOH SUPERVISOR
Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced and proactive Front of House Shift Supervisor to support the Venue Manager to oversee daily operations and ensure exceptional customer experiences at The Kyn Torquay. The Shift Supervisor has the option of a permanent part time or full time contract. The successful candidate must be able to supervise the front-of-house team, manage customer service, and maintain high standards of cleanliness and efficiency. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, a customer-focused approach, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
- Assist the Venue Manager in managing and coordinating all FOH activities.
- Supervise and motivate front-of-house staff, including hosts, servers and bartenders.
- Assist the Venue Manager in training new hires and provide ongoing coaching to ensure high levels of performance and service.
- Ensure exceptional customer service by greeting customers, resolving issues, and responding to enquiries or complaints promptly.
- Monitor service quality and assist the Venue Manager to uphold service standards.
- Oversee daily operations during shifts, including opening and closing procedures, table assignments, and seating arrangements.
- Coordinate with the kitchen team to ensure timely food preparation and delivery to customers.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and sanitation standards.
- Communicate effectively with management, the wider team, and customers to address concerns and maintain positive relationships.
- Perform opening and closing duties according to established procedures.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Front of House Manager, Assistant Manager, or similar role in the hospitality industry.
- Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
- Strong leadership and organisational skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritise tasks effectively.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a customer-oriented approach.
- Knowledge of POS systems, cash handling procedures, and basic accounting principles.
FULL TIME BAR PERSON
We are looking for an experienced bartender to join our team at The Kyn in a permanent part time or full time roll. The successful candidate must deliver a memorable experience for our guests. We are seeking someone with 3 + years of experience in a high-end bar and/or restaurant environment and a genuine interest in hospitality and bar operations. You will be able to use your skills and experience to ensure an outstanding service delivery.
The Ideal Candidate Must Have:
- Experience as a bartender in a vibrant, high-volume venue
- Knowledge and experience of cocktail-making and beverage production
- Experience in exceeding guest expectations
- Adaptability and be able to multi-task
- Time management skills and exceptional communication
- Attention to detail and immaculate presentation
- Strong work ethic and a "can do" attitude
- Able and willing to work a rotating roster including weekends, public holidays, opening and closing shifts
- An up-to-date RSA certificate
