We’re seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Commercial Analyst to join our Financial Performance and Assurance team, supporting our work across Retirement Living, Housing and Property. About the Role
As Junior Commercial Analyst, you’ll play a key role in delivering quality reporting, insightful analysis, and clear communication that informs business decisions and strengthens financial performance.
Working closely with the Senior Commercial Analyst, you’ll contribute to budgeting, forecasting, performance reporting, and data governance activities across Uniting’s Housing and Property portfolios.
Your work will support both operational and strategic goals – making sure our frontline managers have the timely, accurate and relevant information they need to make the best decisions for the people we serve.
What You’ll Be Doing
Financial Modelling, Analysis and Reporting
- Analyse large volumes of data using tools such as Power BI and Excel Power Pivot
- Assist with delivering monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting across Retirement Living and Housing
- Support the village budget process and participate in monthly meetings with operational managers
- Benchmark internal and external projects to identify opportunities and trends
- Build and maintain dashboards and visual reporting tools
- Assist with data governance, documentation and quality assurance processes
- Contribute to budgeting, forecasting and month-end processes
- Ensure timely compliance with regulatory and reporting obligations
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and system enhancements
- Translate complex data into simple, actionable insights
- Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders
- Help non-financial managers understand and use data effectively
- Provide reliable, insightful and well-communicated analysis to support decision making
You're a problem-solver who enjoys working with data – but you’re also curious, people-focused and eager to learn. You bring a mix of technical skill and commercial acumen, and you’re comfortable translating numbers into narrative.
You’ll also bring:
- Tertiary qualifications in Accounting or Finance
- CA, CPA or CFA (or working towards)
- At least 2 years' experience in a similar role, ideally in a large or complex organisation
- Advanced Excel skills and experience handling large data sets
- Strong communication skills and an eye for detail
- Experience with Power BI, Adaptive Insights or similar tools
- Exposure to the property or retirement living sectors
