About Orange Regional Gallery and Orange Regional Museum
Orange Regional Gallery is a centre for art in the Central West of New South Wales, Australia.
Artists and our audiences are at the centre of everything we do at Orange Regional Gallery. We support artists to produce new and innovative works and assist our audiences to have a meaningful connection to the art they produce.
Alongside our Exhibition and Education Programs, we care for an established and rapidly growing Permanent Collection of modern and contemporary art from Australia and abroad.
Established in 2016, Orange Regional Museum is an award-winning museum dedicated to sharing engaging exhibitions and diverse public programs for audiences of all ages. Orange Regional Museum collects and interprets objects of significance for our local history and the history of the broader Central West region.
About the role
Working across both the Orange Regional Museum and Orange Regional Gallery this position will be responsible for assisting with installation, de-installations and collection related projects. You will also assist with the day-to-day operations of the Gallery and Museum. This includes:
- Assisting with collection requirements including object transport, storage and handling and assisting with deliveries
- Assisting with exhibition and installation requirements
- Cleaning and maintaining Gallery and Museum back of house workshop and loading dock
- Assisting visitors with enquiries related to the Gallery and Museum programs and collections and provide information about facilities
- Assisting with desk/reception duties
So what do you need?
- An interest in, and knowledge of, the visual arts and/or social history
- Basic knowledge of art materials and object handling
- Ability to work with power tools and at medium heights
Desirable:
- Experience operating a Scissor Lift (EWP)
- Current RSA or ability to obtain
- Working knowledge of AV equipment including installation and operational requirements
- Current Class C Driver’s Licence
