About the Team
Our Water team in Northern Queensland is growing, and we’re excited to offer a fantastic graduate opportunity for an enthusiastic Water Resources Engineer to join AECOM in our Townsville office.
You'll be part of a highly respected, industry-leading team delivering innovative water resources projects across a wide range of sectors—including flood risk management, nature-based solutions, mine water management, water quality assessments, and major infrastructure development.
As a Graduate Water Resources Engineer, you will:
- Work alongside experienced engineers, scientists, and planners on real-world projects from day one.
- Contribute to a range of projects including flood studies, stormwater management, mine water assessments, and urban water design.
- Support the delivery of water sensitive urban design (WSUD), drainage design, and hydraulic modelling for a variety of infrastructure projects.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and gain exposure to both local and national initiatives.
- Have the opportunity to get involved in project coordination, report writing, and client engagement, depending on your interests.
- Be supported through structured graduate development, including mentoring, technical training, and assistance in working towards CPEng and RPEQ accreditation.
Qualifications
Who we’re looking for:
- Final year students or recent graduates with a degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related discipline.
- A passion for water resources, sustainability, and solving complex challenges.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills, with an eagerness to learn and grow.
- You must have completed your studies and have graduated before starting the program.
- You must be able to commence work by February 2026. We are open to mid-year finishers who are able to commence by July 2026.
