Position Information
Macquarie Fields High School is situated on Dharawal land and is a large inclusive secondary school with an enrolment of 1097 students in comprehensive, selective stream and Special Education classes. The school is culturally and linguistically diverse with 86% of students having language backgrounds other than English and 13 students of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander background.

Selection Criteria
- Highly developed communication and organisational skills to build strong connections across the community to enhance the wellbeing of all students and foster a positive school culture.
- Proven leadership skills and the capacity to work collaboratively with the school executive team to lead whole school improvement.
- Demonstrated capacity to plan and provide data informed supports for all learners, ensuring equity and inclusion across a rich and diverse learning community.
- Demonstrated capacity to initiate, develop and implement whole school wellbeing programs, with evidence of student impact, to support the outcomes of all students.
General Selection Criteria
1. Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice
2. Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs
3. Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams
4. Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents
5. Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning
6. Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policy
Conditions
An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
