Job Description
The Health Information Services department currently have an opportunity for a full-time Health Information Services Scanning Clerk to join our Geelong campus. If you're a whiz with documents, have good computer skills and like keeping things organised, this could be the role for you.
This is a ‘behind the scenes role’ that is vital to keep our hospital running. It involves scanning of paper based medical records into our Digital Medical Record System, as well as responding to requests for health information from other health services. Providing great customer service to both internal and external partners both in person and over the phone is also essential.
Responsibilities/Duties:
- Scanning paper-based patient medical records using the BOSSnet Digital Medical Record system.
- Responding to record requests.
- Answering telephone enquiries.
- Responding to information requests in accordance with the department’s release of information guidelines.
- Collecting, scanning and re-directing mail.
- Performing general department administration duties as required
Key Criteria:
- Sound computer skills
- Excellent customer service skills
- Can work independently and in a team environment
- Good attention to detail
- Able to multi-task and to organise work accordingly
Desirable (non-essential):
- Previous medical record experience
- Experience with iPM and the BOSSnet Digital Medical Record system
- Working knowledge of Medical Terminology
