As a Homelessness Worker within our Housing Pathways Program (Courts), you will play a vital role in breaking the cycle of homelessness and reducing re-offending for court-referred individuals. About the role
You will support clients referred through the justice system, helping them to overcome the complex barriers that contribute to homelessness. Through trauma-informed, client-led case management, you’ll assess housing needs, develop tailored support plans, and connect individuals to life-changing services — all with compassion, integrity, and respect.
Reporting to the Housing Pathways Program (Courts) Manager, this is a permanent full-time position, based in Ballarat, VIC.
Compensation is in accordance with SCHADS Award Level 5.
You will successfully
- Assess and address immediate and long-term housing needs for clients on bail
- Advocate for access to housing options and support services
- Create and review individual case plans in collaboration with clients
- Provide outreach and case management support in line with TSA models of care
- Work closely with Court Services Victoria, housing providers, and external services
- Assist clients impacted by family violence to access support packages
- Promote culturally safe, inclusive and accessible service delivery
You will have
- A degree (or relevant qualification with substantial experience) in Social Work or a related community services field
- Sound knowledge of the homelessness sector, systems and legislation
- Experience supporting individuals with complex needs, including those in contact with the justice system
- Excellent networking and advocacy skills
- An understanding of trauma-informed care and cultural safety practices
- A valid VIC Driver's Licence
- A current and valid Employee Working with Children's Check
