Job Responsibilities:
As a Farm Manager, Horticulture Supervisor, you will oversee and supervise farm operations to ensure productivity goals are met. Your duties will include organising and supervising work for employees, determining work schedules, and executing assignments related to planting, cultivation, water management, and harvesting of crops. You will also be responsible for monitor and manage soil for production, training personnel on work procedures, equipment operation, pest control, and safety measures.
Key Duties:
- Mange work health and safety processes
- Develop hydroponic systems
- Develop workplace policy and procedures for sustainability
- Plan and implement a biosecurity program
- Execute assignments related to planting, cultivation, water management, and harvesting
- Train personnel on work procedures, equipment operation, pest control, and safety measures
- Maintain knowledge of equipment efficiency and operation
- Manage the production systems
- Observe workers to spot inefficient and unsafe work procedures, initiating corrective action if necessary
- Develop climate risk management strategies and track daily rainfall data, staff gauge readings, and temperatures, reporting back to management
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $65,000.00 – $80,000.00 per year
