This role is responsible for planning and implementing HR transformation and process improvement initiatives across the employee lifecycle. Working closely with HR team and key stakeholders, the HRBP will ensure our HR operations, policies, systems, and processes are harmonized, streamlined, and aligned with best practice.

How you will make an impact:

  • You will conduct a comprehensive audit of existing HR policies across the business, identify inconsistencies, outdated practices, or compliance risks, develop and execute a structured change management plan to update and implement revised policies, consult with legal and HR stakeholders to ensure policies meet Australian legislative requirements.

  • You will collaborate with Payroll and Finance teams to review current allowance structures across different business units, identify inconsistencies in payroll allowances, and recommend standardization options, prepare business cases for changes and support implementation, including communication and change impacts.

  • You will review current employee benefits and entitlements across the business, benchmark offerings against market standards and internal equity goals, develop proposals for harmonized benefit structures and coordinate implementation planning, conduct a full review of HR master data to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance, partner with stakeholders to implement data quality controls and system improvements, create standard operating procedures (SOPs) for ongoing data maintenance and governance.

  • You will map the current end-to-end employee lifecycle, identifying gaps, inefficiencies or inconsistencies, design a streamlined and consistent lifecycle model from attraction to exit, work with HR centers of excellence and stakeholders to align processes and touchpoints, review all HR templates and documentation (e.g., letters, checklists, contracts, onboarding packs), standardize format, language, branding, and compliance across templates, create a centralized, user-friendly repository and implement version control protocols.

  • You will evaluate the current performance management practices and tools, develop a fit-for-purpose performance management framework that supports regular feedback, development, and accountability, create all supporting documentation, guides and templates for employees and leaders, partner with HR Learning & Development teams to embed and support adoption.

  • You will implement and ensure compliance with global and local standards, rules, tools, policies, and processes related to operations/project execution, share and develop best practices across the wider HR community.

  • You will be responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.

  • Living Hitachi Energy's core values of safety and integrity, which means taking responsibility for your own actions while caring for your colleagues and the business.

Your background:

  • You hold a bachelor’s degree.

  • 7+ years of HR experience, ideally including roles in HR operations, policy, or transformation.

  • Strong understanding of Australian employment law and compliance standards.

  • Demonstrated experience leading HR improvement or harmonization initiatives in a complex business environment, proven project management and change management skills, high attention to detail, strong documentation and process mapping capabilities, experience with HR systems (e.g., Workday) and data integrity processes.

  • Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills, including experience presenting recommendations to senior leaders.
