The Role
We are currently seeking applications from qualified and highly experienced health, safety and environmental professionals to join us in the position of HSE Advisor.
As HSE Advisor you will provide health, safety and environmental advice and support to project teams and contribute to the achievement of H&S objectives, by ensuring that all staff and contractors comply with Statutory, Contractual and Safety Management System obligations. You will also be responsible for but not limited to the following:
- Ensuring a safe work environment by adhering to health and safety regulations and promoting best practices to prevent workplace injuries or hazard
- Ensuring compliance with all HSEQ requirements on site
- Assisting the project team to ensure compliance relating to high-risk work and the client Critical Risk Management programs
- Managing the site incident and injury investigation and reporting process
- Ensuring the required HSE documentation is maintained, and initiate improvements as required
- Providing accurate and quality HSE reporting as per client and company requirements
- Ensuring effective HSE communications via toolbox and pre-start meetings and safety alerts
- Conducting HSE Inductions and toolbox meetings
- Completing HSE monitoring, reviews, reports, audits, and related actions
- Training and mentoring staff members in safety and compliance
- Managing subcontractor WHS evaluations and compliance to all safety systems/ documentation/ site safety compliance
- Initiating and managing site emergency procedures as required
- Reviewing work packs including JRA’s, SWMS and facilitate improvement as required
About You
To be considered for this opportunity, you will have experience the following skills and attributes:
- Tertiary qualification in WHS, OHS, RTW, ICAM or related field
- Minimum 5 years’ FIFO experience in a similar role within the mining and construction industry, in remote locations
- Valid Australia C Class Drivers Licence
- Current First Aid certification (desirable)
- Relevant working knowledge of OH&S legislation & HSE management practices
- Exceptional communication skills and strong leadership skills
- Possess detailed understanding of relevant legislation, regulations and protocols related to the Construction, Health and Safety
