We are also proud to be an accredited Select Entry Accelerated Learning Program (SEAL) school for academically talented students from Year 7 onwards.

Selection Criteria

Role

  • The applicant is required to provide instrumental instructions on percussion instruments.
  • The successful applicant must be able to instruct and demonstrate the instruments at all levels from beginning to VCE and be versed in a range of styles, contemporary and traditional.
  • The College requires all instrumental music staff to demonstrate a high level of competency in instructing instruments in groups.

Responsibilities

The responsibilities of an Instrumental Music instructor may include but is not limited to:
  • Direct instructing of percussion instruments to groups of students and individual students;
  • Rehearse and contribute to concert band(s).
  • Contributing to the development, implementation and evaluation of the Music curriculum area within the school;
  • Undertaking other related and organisational duties as determined by the School Principal.
  • Participating in such activities as parent/teacher meetings: staff meetings, concerts, camps and excursions;
  • Complying with the timetable and professional ethos of the school;
  • Creating a positive environment conducive to learning for the students of whom he or she is in charge in line with the school's well-being and pastoral care policies
