Your part in our UnitingCare team
We are currently seeking an Intake Practitioner/Administration Officer to join our Auchenflower Supported Accommodation Service.
In this role you will:
  • Greet and assist residents, guests, and service providers in a professional, trauma-informed manner.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of client interactions, incidents and staff requests for handovers.
  • Managing and responding to all referrals and enquiries by phone, email and external parties.
  • Assisting with monthly and quarterly reporting of brokerage expenditure in accordance with relevant guidelines.
  • Undertake screening, triage and risk assessment process with families seeking a housing and homelessness response, with Service Leader oversight as required.
  • Demonstrate strong empathy, advocacy, de-escalation and conflict resolution skills.
  • Work within the policies and procedures of UnitingCare and the provisions of Workplace Health and Safety and other relevant Legislation, including support for injured workers and full participation in return to work plans.
  • Participate in regular supervision, team meetings, performance planning and professional development.
  • Positively represent the organisation when engaging with all stakeholders (including government and non-government agencies).
What makes a difference for us?
  • Minimum Cert. IV in human services or related field (Tertiary qualification in human services or related field highly desirable)
  • Current Drivers Licence and Blue Card
  • Demonstrated competence in oral and written communication including proficiency in Information Technology systems (including Microsoft Office- Word, Excel and Outlook)
  • Demonstrated experience in the community services sector
  • Ability to engage with people in crisis who present with a range of complex needs
  • Ability to engage with a diverse range of people and display culturally competent practice
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team as well as responsibly within an autonomous setting
  • Commitment to learning and professional development including participation in regular supervision practices
  • Commitment to working within the beliefs, mission and values of UnitingCare Community and adhering to policies and organisational requirements and processes
