About the opportunity
The Interior Design Consultant reports to the Studio Manager and is part of the MyChoice Design Studio team. The key focus of this role, you will be working with clients and providing them with the guidance and assistance they require through the presentation of plans and selection of external, internal, and electrical choices necessary to make their dream home a reality. More specifically, you will:
- Work closely with clients from initial walk through, selections and beyond
- Provide a customised approach for selecting interior and external details, material specifications, colour lighting/electrical requirements, spatial planning, and knowledge of design criteria to achieve the style and substyles chosen by the customer
- Interpreting client needs and completing detailed design concepts and contract documents
- Provide on the spot pricing and estimating
- Working collaboratively and coordinating work with other disciplines
- Effectively utilising available technology to accurately record all revisions and reselections
- Ensuring customer satisfaction by providing guidance and quality support
About you
You will share a passion for our purpose and be aligned to our core values; better together, be accountable, people matter and think bigger. In addition, you will:
- 2+ years experience working in a similar role
- Certificate in Interior Design and Decoration or other relevant tertiary qualification
- Commitment to providing excellence in customer service and strong communication skills
- Experience in interior design or colour consulting ideally within the residential building industry
- An ability to read and understand floor plans and housing contracts and up to date knowledge of relevant legislation, codes and industry trends
- Attention to detail and strong record keeping, planning and organising
- Ability to attend Customer Information night events, out of business hours
- Ability to work Monday – Friday with flexibility to work weekends when required
