WANTED FULL-TIME JACK-UP BARGEMASTER for the SHIRINE Project

We have an opportunity for a full-time Jack-up Bargemaster for a 2–3-month assignment starting in July 2025 for a position located off the coast of Dampier, 6713, WA. The works require the demolition and reconstruction of mooring structures utilising a construction barge for the Parker Point Dampier Fuel Wharf Dolphins Replacement Works.
Position
We are seeking a FULL-TIME Jack-Up Bargemaster.
Reporting to the Project Manager / Project Supervisor the full-time Jack-Up Bargemaster will require the skillset of a Jack-up Barge Master, and most importantly, a Master who has already have experience on the specific vessel, the SHIRINE, as on-vessel specific knowledge is required for this highly specialised position.
Main Tasks:
- Receipt and unloading of barge from HLV to ocean
· Meeting and liasion with local Port Authorities, pilots and tugboats in Dampier
· Rigging and unloading of barge pontoon and associated equipment from HLV
· Recommission systems such that barge can be moved to suitable location
- Recommission / rebuilding vessel for future use as a Jack-up Barge for construction
- Removal of seafastening from voyage
- Lifting and reinstatement of 4 nos. spudlegs into spudwells
- Jack-up vessel at berth to enable fit-out for construction
- Completion of any final physical works required for the Change of Flag
· Oversee & supervise the following
- Load 400T crawler crane on deck
- Installation construction tooling onto barge
- Loading and fastening of ancillary equipment onboard
· Tow barge to site and commence construction works
· Master onboard during in-Port movements of barge
· Position the barge in the active Fuel Berth as per project requirements.
· Overall responsibility for the operation, positioning, and legislative compliance of the Jack-up Barge
- Conduct barge inductions, safety inspections, hazard identification, risk assessments and incident reporting associated with barge operations.
- Implement and enforce safety management systems and practices and ensure emergency drills such as fire drills, man overboard drills, and muster drills are routinely carried out and captured in accordance with the Safety Management Plan (SMP).
- Ensure all policy and procedures specified in the Safety Management Plan (SMP) and Safe Operating Procedures (SOP) are adhered to and familiar to the crew.
- Ensure crew understand barge operation limits, jacking operations, preloading techniques and environmental constraints that may affect barge operations
Key requirements
· Must have extensive experience on the specific vessel, the SHIRINE.
· Must have at least 3-5 years of highly relevant experience with demolition and reconstruction of mooring structures utilising a construction barge.
- Must have sufficient references from previous employers to demonstrate their relevant level of professional experience.
- Must have the skills and knowledge of a master who has worked with the specific vessel to be successfully and efficiently complete the assignment.
· Coxswain, Master 4, Master 5 (or international equivalents) – Highly beneficial but not mandatory.
· Marine Engine Driver 2 (or international equivalents) - beneficial but not mandatory
· Relevant marine industry certifications, such as First Aid, Survival at Sea, and Marine Safety Management.
· Extensive knowledge of legislative and regulatory requirements regarding vessel operation and management.
· Training in dynamic positioning systems and emergency response procedures is preferred.
· National Police Check
· C-Class Drivers Licence
Remuneration
Maritime Constructions is pleased to offer a generous above the relevant award base salary plus superannuation depending on work experience and qualifications.
The specific package will be offered depending upon the meeting of the above selection criteria and including past experience. Salary package, leave and other entitlements are paid as per the Marine Towage Award (MA000050) and the National Employment Standard (NES).
