About the Business Unit:
Hopkins Correctional Centre is a medium-security men's prison located in Ararat, Victoria. The prison's primary purpose is to prepare male prisoners for transition, reintegration, and release. Hopkins Correctional Centre provides accommodation for sentenced and unsentenced prisoners with protection requirements in an open campus environment, combining community-style prison design with the Better Living Model (an innovative case management model for prisoner management).
About the Role:
Reporting to the Justice Officer Team Leader, the Justice Officer - Business Support role provides accurate and timely administrative and support services to Hopkins Correctional Centre and staff.
Some of your duties will include:
- Providing administrative support and client services relevant to the location
- Providing information and assistance to clients, internal and external stakeholders and the public including the collation, review, and processing of applications
- Providing reception and telephone responses for the location.
These positions are based at Hopkins Correctional Centre in regional Victoria and may require direct prisoner contact. The Justice Officer – Business Support team roster involves working weekdays, Monday through to Friday.

To be successful in this role, you will possess:
- Well-developed computer literacy and administration skills
- An understanding of the importance of maintaining accurate records of sensitive information and documents
- The ability to communicate with a wide range of stakeholders
