Your role will involve:
In this dynamic, field-based role, you’ll be hands-on with the latest IoT instrumentation—installing, operating, maintaining, and calibrating devices that deliver critical data for smarter infrastructure and environmental insights. You’ll also play a key role in training teams, supervising field activities, and ensuring high-quality service delivery.
As a Subject Matter Expert, you’ll support both small and large-scale device rollouts, bringing your field expertise to the forefront of innovation. From leak detection to environmental monitoring, your work will directly contribute to safer, more efficient communities.
Your key responsibilities will include:
Execute field and office operations for IoT sensor installations, reworks, and servicing across a diverse monitoring network.
Provide detailed feedback on IoT use case trials to help shape future innovations.
Plan and carry out installations and maintenance of various field instruments at designated monitoring sites.
Conduct quality control audits with precision, especially within the EIP IoT Sewer Blockage Detection Program.
Lead and support workforce planning activities to ensure efficient field operations.
Actively contribute to project teams and collaborate across departments.
Build and maintain strong working relationships to support smooth project delivery.
Guide less experienced staff, driving quality and consistency in both field and office work.

Qualifications:
- Certificate IV in Water Operations or working towards or appropriate related tertiary qualifications
- A current NSW driver’s licence
- Valid/ obtain Confined Space certificate, General WHS Construction card, RMS Traffic Control certificates, Senior First Aid certificate, Specialist Gas Testing certificate.
- Valid/ obtain current inoculations in Hepatitis A, B and Tetanus
- Relevant experience in the wastewater/water industry
- Demonstrated experience working under limited direction and to tight deadlines.
- Demonstrated experience in the operation, calibration and maintenance of IoT field equipment
- Demonstrated experience mentoring of inexperienced staff in all aspects of field IoT
