Purpose of Role: As the Leading Hand Fitter based in the Townsville workshop, you will mentor and lead a dedicated and hard-working team of fitters. Undertaking fitting duties to all forms of rotating equipment, with a focus on pumps and centrifuges, both in the workshop and in field service.

Offering a family friendly Monday to Friday roster and much more:
- Monday - Thursday 6am - 2.30pm
- Friday 5am - 12pm
- Overtime available weekly + shutdown work
- All uniforms, tools and PPE provided.
- Above industry standard superannuation of 12%
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintaining and repairing Weir products including strip, assembly, and drawing amendments
- Recommending improvements to products, service and internal processes.
- Working safely and productively both in the workshop and onsite environments
- Supervision and training of fitters, ensuring performance and quality of work in a safe manner, adhering to WMA policies and procedures
- Ensure prestart checks are conducted and work areas are safe and hazard free
- Assist the Manager to issue service quotations and advise on assembly and inspection matters.
Job Knowledge / Education and Qualifications
- Cert III – Mechanical Engineering/Fitting & Turning
- Experience in mechanical fitting in a workshop and onsite environments
- Experience leading and mentoring a team of fitters
- Well-developed written and verbal communication skills
- High Risk Fork lift ticket - preferred
- Overhead crane & doggers ticket - highly desirable
- Current Drivers License required
- Willing to undergo a pre-employment medical
