The Burger Centre is seeking a Leisure & Lifestyle Worker to join their close-knit team onsite in Randwick.
Current opportunities exist for those seeking employment on a permanent full time or part time basis. As a Leisure & Lifestyle Worker, you will support and conduct a range of stimulating small group activities suitable for the group which may include people living with dementia. Such activities may include discussion groups, gentle exercise, craft, reminiscence programs, outings as well as music related programs.
Essential Criteria
- Qualifications in Diversional Therapy / Certificate IV in Leisure & Health/Art, Music or Drama/ Certificate III in Aged Care; bachelor’s degree in social science, social work, psychology or related Allied Health will also be considered
- Demonstrated knowledge of Aged Care Quality Standards
- Knowledge of the common physical, psychological and social issues affecting older people and people living with dementia
- Experience in working with older people, program planning and facilitation
- Experience working with people living with dementia or other cognitive impairment
- Specialist skills pertaining to Leisure and Lifestyle
- An understanding of the needs of older people from CALD backgrounds
- Working knowledge of EEO and WHS
- Experience in working as part of a team
- First Aid and CPR Certification
- Strong computer knowledge and competency in Microsoft Office Suite, Teams, Zoom, use of internet, laptops, Multimedia devices, social media and client management systems

Desirable Criteria
- Licence or ability to obtain Class C (Car) licence;
- Photography skills;
