Work Location: Eliwana - Fortescue’s Eliwana mine is located on the traditional lands of the Puutu Kunti Kurrama people.
Roster: 7D7N14R – FIFO ex Perth or Busselton
Fortescue is seeking a skilled Line Borer to join the Mobile Equipment Maintenance team at Eliwana on a 2:2 roster. In this role, you will support the mobile maintenance fleet with planned and unplanned line boring tasks on a variety of earthmoving components, both in the workshop and during field-based operations.
Key Responsibilities
Lineborer
- Setup and operation of machining tools and equipment.
- Complete minor welding and fabrication tasks as required.
- Use liquid nitrogen for the assembly and fitting of various components.
- Maintain and troubleshoot boring equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Conduct quality checks to ensure compliance with specifications.
- Collaborate with the maintenance team to identify and resolve equipment issues.
General Boilermaker repairs/fabrication
- Replacing wear plates and strips using arc air gouging method
- Cutting, grinding and welding steel sections to form a fabricated structure
- Oxy cutting plate use oxy acetylene handpiece
- Replacing work Ground engaging tools (G.E.T)Boom and Stick Crack Repairs
Machine Repairs
- Chassis repairs on CAT/Liebherr/Komatsu machinery
- Blade/bucket/tray/machine inspections
- In pit repairs (ability to problem solve breakdowns)
Qualifications and Experience
- Nationally recognised trade qualification
- High regard for safety
- EWP Ticket
- A keen eye for detail, presentation and craftsmanship in bucket rebuilds, repairs and refurbishments.
- Significant post-trade experience with heavy earth moving equipment
- Current Drivers Licence (HR Desireable)
