Job Description
We're seeking a skilled Loader Operator Trainer to lead the training, assessment, and development of Loader Operators across our mine site and port operations. Roster: Monday to Friday
Shift Hours: 12 Hours
Hourly Rate: $52 per hour

Key Duties and Responsibilities
Training Delivery & Program Development
- Deliver structured and engaging training programs for both new and experienced Loader Operators
- Lead practical assessments, simulations, and safety drills
- Support onboarding, probationary reviews, and annual competency evaluations
Performance Monitoring & Skills Development
- Analyse load data, compliance reports, and supervisor feedback to identify training needs
- Maintain a current register of operator competencies and refresher training requirements
- Design targeted coaching and development plans for both underperformers and high-potential team members
Compliance & Record Keeping
- Accurately document all training sessions, assessments, and competency sign-offs
- Keep training records up to date in Litmos and other relevant systems
- Ensure all training aligns with WHS regulations, Chain of Responsibility, and operational standards
Continuous Improvement & Cross-Team Collaboration
- Update training materials to reflect changes in equipment, regulations, or procedures
- Work closely with WHS, HR, and Operations teams to ensure training meets business needs
- Contribute to audits and support wider safety and compliance initiatives
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years’ experience operating loaders in mining or bulk logistics environments
- Proven experience training, mentoring, or assessing loader operators
- Confident in delivering inductions, toolbox talks, and practical training sessions
- Certificate IV in Training & Assessment (TAE40116), or a willingness to obtain with Newhaul’s support
- Strong knowledge of load distribution, weight compliance, and safety protocols
- Proficient in maintaining training records using digital systems such as Litmos or SharePoint
- Competent with Microsoft Office Suite for documentation, reporting, and tracking progress
- Ability to design, manage, and deliver structured training programs
- Capable of leading and supporting peer trainers across multiple sites
- Excellent communication, organisation, and follow-up skills
