About the role
We are currently seeking a skilled Maintenance – Mechanical Team Leader to join our team at the Loxton site. This is a hands-on role focused on mechanical servicing, repairs, and upgrades across a range of fixed and mobile equipment.
Working as part of the Maintenance and Engineering team, you’ll be responsible for carrying out day-to-day mechanical tasks to keep plant and equipment running reliably and efficiently. You’ll also support safe work practices and assist with coordinating tasks among trades when needed.
Your mechanical expertise and ability to respond to breakdowns will be key to maintaining plant availability and supporting smooth operations. This is a full-time, Monday–Friday role with occasional after-hours support as required to meet operational demands.
Duties
- Coordinate mechanical and electrical servicing, maintenance, installations and upgrades across the Loxton group
- Supervise and support a small team of tradespeople and apprentices
- Lead the daily execution of labour, activities and maintenance task scheduling
- Oversee contractor engagement and ensure cost-effective service delivery
- Assist in identifying future maintenance requirements and input into capital planning
- Participate in root cause analysis and failure trend monitoring
- Ensure accurate and timely CMMS record keeping and reporting
- Support food safety, workplace safety, and quality compliance requirements
- Contribute to the training, mentoring, and development of apprentices
- Maintain country storage sites in accordance with environmental legislation
About you
- Trade qualification in Mechanical Fitting, Diesel or similar field
- Demonstrated experience in a maintenance leadership role
- Competent in people management and team development
- Sound knowledge of maintenance systems and spare parts management
- Experience working in grain handling or bulk commodities (desirable)
- Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces
- Current unrestricted C class driver’s licence
- Strong safety, food safety and quality focus
