The City’s Community Development Directorate provides a broad range of facilities, services, projects and events that directly impact the daily lives of almost 250,000 residents and visitors. The Directorate works to develop safe and vibrant places and deliver services and facilities to support a community that is healthy, welcoming and thriving.
Within the directorate, the Customer and Communications Business Unit drives innovation and leads strategic marketing and communications, drives and supports delivery of a fantastic range of events and achieves results for our customers.
About the Position
Reporting to the Marketing Coordinator, you’ll play a key role in delivering high-quality marketing and administrative support, in a manner that reflects the City’s commitment to excellent customer service.
Key Responsibilities
The duties of the Marketing and Communications Business Support Officer are listed in full on the position description. They will include (but are not limited to):
- Coordinating purchases for the Marketing and Communications team and supporting the team to ensure compliance with the City’s Purchasing Policy
- Responsible for coordinating the City’s newspaper advertising and public notices
- Manage annual contracts and subscriptions for Australia Post, Getty Images, Messages On Hold and The West Australian
- Provide financial information to team leaders on marketing expenditure to inform decision-making and for use in developing marketing and communications strategies
- As required, reconciliation of Business Unit print advertising charges, ensuring each individual advert is allocated to Business Units correctly
- Monthly reconciliation of paid digital advertising on credit card statements and organising on-charging to Business Units as per the digital marketing schedule
- Copywriting and proofreading of print advertising text on behalf of the City’s Business Units
- Coordinate Business Unit approvals and final artwork submissions to print media outlets under strict deadline parameters
- Assign and respond to RMS enquiries from customers
- Coordinate and close all Marketing and Communications teams purchase orders by the end of financial year
- Undertake general administration duties for the Marketing and Communications team, including customer service, stationery ordering, internal mail distribution and facility poster distribution as required
- Other duties consistent with the position as directed.
About You

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for engaging with internal and external stakeholders
- A practical approach to problem-solving, with a focus on customer needs
- Strong organisation and time-management abilities
- Experience in administration, finance, contracts or project coordination.

This permanent part-time position is a Level 5 Inside Workforce Agreement position which attracts a salary from $77,514.91 - $81,597.55 gross pro rata per annum plus superannuation.
To be eligible to work for us, you need to provide, or have ability obtain a:
- A copy of Australian driving licence
- National Police Clearance (valid within the last 3 months)
- Pre-Employment Medical and DAS clearance
- The right to work in Australia
