Job Description
We are seeking a driven and insightful Marketplace Editor to lead a high-performing content team, focusing on the car-buying journey for Australians. This role involves championing editorial innovation, using audience insights to drive content, and overseeing the production of high-quality written, photographic, video, and social media content for new and used cars.
Day to day you will:
- Lead and manage the Marketplace content team to deliver accurate, engaging, and actionable content.
- Drive content ideation, prioritisation, and performance optimisation using audience insights and engagement data.
- Create and oversee the production of high-quality written, photographic, video, and social media Marketplace content.
- Provide clear editorial direction and constructive feedback, identifying areas for improvement and upskilling team members.
- Apply advanced SEO strategies to maximise visibility of Marketplace content.
- Ensure all Marketplace content meets legal and ethical journalism standards.
- Stay ahead of emerging technologies and tools, including AI and content automation.
Qualifications
What you'll bring:
- A tertiary qualification in journalism, communications, or a related field.
- Extensive experience in automotive journalism with a strong portfolio.
- Deep knowledge of the automotive industry.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Confident on-camera presence and experience with television or video presenting.
- Strong understanding of SEO best practices.
- A proven track record of leading and mentoring high-performing editorial teams.
- A desire and willingness to challenge the status quo to drive innovation and impact.
- A current full driver’s license.
