About the role
This full-time Meat Manager position at Klose’s Foodland in Nairne, offers an exciting opportunity to lead a team of passionate butchers and oversee the meat operations for this growing supermarket chain. As the Meat Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring the provision of high-quality meat products and delivering an exceptional customer experience.
What you’ll be doing
- Manage and oversee all aspects of the meat department, including ordering, receiving, storing, and displaying fresh meat products
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain strict hygiene standards in the meat preparation area
- Train, develop, and supervise a team of skilled butchers, delegating tasks and providing guidance to enhance their performance
- Analyse sales data, identify trends, and make informed decisions to optimise inventory and product offerings
- Provide exceptional customer service, offering product recommendations and catering to special requests
- Collaborate with the store management team to implement marketing initiatives and merchandising strategies
What we’re looking for
- Extensive experience as a Meat Manager or Senior Butcher, with a proven track record of leading a team and driving operational excellence
- Comprehensive knowledge of meat processing, handling, and storage procedures, as well as food safety regulations
- Strong customer service orientation and the ability to provide expert guidance and recommendations to customers
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively manage and motivate a team
- Proficiency in inventory management, data analysis, and decision-making to optimise business performance
- A passion for the meat industry and a commitment to delivering high-quality products and an exceptional customer experience
