About the role
With production operations ramping up, we are actively expanding our team and currently seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineering Technician to play a key role in bringing our newly installed equipment into full operation and ensuring overall production readiness.
As part of our growing team in Adelaide, you will work closely with our engineering department staff to support the setup, manufacturing, and assembly of aluminium and uPVC window and door systems. Your contribution will be essential to JOLONG AUSTRALIA (SA) PTY LTD’s next stage of local manufacturing growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain, calibrate, and troubleshoot door and window production equipment, including cutting machines, CNC machining centers, corner assembly units, and glass processing lines.
- Fabricate and assemble aluminium and uPVC window and door systems according to technical specifications and quality standards.
- Conduct mechanical performance tests, such as operating force and repeated opening and closing to ensure compliance with industry standards.
- Perform precision assembly of core components such as multi-point locking systems and friction hinges, and sliding mechanisms.
- Assist engineering technologist in the prototyping and testing of new products such as energy-efficient window and door systems and smart door control mechanisms.
- Inspect assembled components and finished products to verify dimensional accuracy and functional performance.
- Record production data and test results, and assist in drafting technical documentation and process instructions.
- Support joint efforts to diagnose and address technical challenges in order to streamline production workflows.
- Follow safety procedures and participate in regular equipment maintenance and workshop upkeep.
Qualifications and Skills
- Certificate III or higher qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Technology, or a related field.
- Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in mechanical assembly, equipment maintenance, or production support, preferably in the window and door manufacturing industry.
- Proficient in CNC machining, cutting, forming, and assembly processes for aluminium and uPVC components.
- Proven experience in mechanical performance testing.
- Experience with precision tools, measuring instruments, and quality inspection procedures.
- Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to identify and resolve mechanical and technical issues.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented setting.
