We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineering Technician to join our team in Emerald, Qld on a permanent full-time basis. The role is responsible for the day-to-day mechanical engineering operations, repairs, safety, compliance, management of cotton ginning machinery and equipment. This critical position ensures the completion of maintenance tasks to achieve bale output targets to the highest standard of quality and safety. Your responsibilities include:
· Monitor and ensure safe and efficient mechanical production operations of gin site;
· Undertake mechanical based maintenance and repairs and safety;
· Identify faults and utilize troubleshooting skills to identify and implement solutions;
· Install new and modified mechanical assemblies and components;
· Conduct testing of all ginnery machinery and equipment to ensure all ginning machinery areoperating at maximum capacity
· Assisting and supporting mechanical engineer;
· Ensure maintenance schedule is adhered to;
· Reporting of production turnout;
· Provide reactive support to cotton ginnery equipment in the event of an emergency breakdown;
Skills & Experience
The ideal candidate has previous experience in a similar role and is equipped with a trade background or proven skills in mechanical engineering. You'll have a mature and proactive approach to your duties and be able to work well with all members of the team. With excellent people management and problem-solving skills, it is important you can prove the following:
- Mechanical trade certification or three years or more years relevant industry experience;
- Demonstrated experience in maintenance/production environments;
- Team player attitude with high attention to detail;
- Willingness and ability to pass a Pre-employment Medical and Drug + Alcohol testing.
