You must demonstrate to have previous experience working in an engineering workshop environment using both manual and CNC machines while working within an ISO quality management framework.
Successful applicant needs to;
- Have experience with FANUC and/or Heidenhain Controls - programming & set-up (3, 4 & 5-axis), and AutoCAD,
- Must be a quality trained tradesperson with closely related Certificate III in Engineering (Fitter/machinist) or international equivalent including at least two years of on-the-job training or at least 2 years of closely related work experience will substitute for formal qualification.
- Skilled in measuring & interpreting drawings
- Be able to work unsupervised
- An ability and willingness to operate as a team player and contribute positively toward the success of the company and the welfare of all fellow workers
- An ability and willingness to learn new skills and accept responsibility for your own performance and behaviour
- Understanding the requirements of ISO9001 & who takes pride in their work and equipment.
Duties include;
- Understanding of Job Requirements, Job Drawings & specifications, and the sequencing of operations on the job traveller, and schedule of jobs.
- Ability to select appropriate equipment, consumables, tools, etc
- Knowledge of the characteristics of materials
- Machine programming, set up & control
- Machine maintenance & management, including tooling.
- Manage cleanliness of workspace including machine and tools.
- Knowledge of speeds, feed rates, lubricants, etc
- Testing for surface finish and hardness
- Measuring & checking skills, sign off operation when dimensional check are complete and advise of any potential non-conformance.
- Checking for quality & accuracy compared with the job scope & specifications
- Ensure time is captured accurately on Shopfloor ERP & aim to achieve allocated hours for each operation as noted on job traveller,
- A positive approach to customer satisfaction, quality of workmanship and Workplace health and safety (WHS)
- Use of safe work method statements and JSA’s & appropriate Personal Protective Equipment
