About the Role
The School of Social Sciences, Media, Film and Education is seeking a Media Production Technical Officer to join our team. Under routine supervision from the Film and Media Production Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for providing technical support for teaching activities in higher education, as well as offering assistance to university staff.

The role involves delivering technical advice and support to both staff and students. This includes maintaining and supporting various facilities such as the media equipment store and loans office, production-oriented classrooms, recording suites, and studios.

In addition, the Media Production Technical Officer will assist in the production of video, audio, and still image materials as needed. The position requires regular collaboration with academic, research, and technical staff, as well as students, to ensure the smooth operation of media production services.

About You
To be suitable for this role you will need to have experience in the below key accountabilities:

  • Technical expertise in the operation and maintenance of digital media production equipment, including video, film, photography, audio, and lighting gear
  • Knowledge of workflows in the film and television industry. Knowledge or experience in live streaming, multicam setups, and live event support
  • Experience in managing and maintaining production equipment using asset management systems, including tracking and cataloguing equipment
  • Knowledge of OH&S practices as they pertain to the film and television industry

Qualifications
Associate diploma level qualification with relevant work-related experience or a certificate level qualification with post-certificate relevant work experience or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training
