Job Description:
Our practice is a busy, high quality, boutique, friendly and patient orientated practice. The Mascot Eye Specialist Centre is looking for a well-presented and compassionate, medical receptionist/secretary to join our friendly team.
This is a fantastic role for someone who wants a career in the health industry, has excellent communication skills, attention to detail and has a willingness to learn new skills.
The ideal candidate must be able to work well independently most days and occasionally as a part of our team. Full training is available and there is a small amount of job flexibility for the right person.
About the role/daily tasks:
- Greeting patients and other clients at the practice in a courteous and efficient manner
- Answering phone calls promptly and professionally
- Making appointments for, billing and invoicing patients through the patient management system (eClaims)
- Typing daily clinical correspondence
- Gathering patient medical reports and records in readiness for consultation
- Contacting medicare and health funds for claim queries and disputes
- Ability to multi-task and thrive in a very busy working environment
- Strong attention to detail
Essential criteria:
- Experience in medical reception (minimum 1 year)
- Experience with medical billing software
- Profient in computer skills and trouble shooting
