As the Midwifery Unit Manager, you will spearhead the delivery of exceptional midwifery services at SALHN. Ambulatory Women's Health Service is an outpatient service that consists of Midwives, Obstetric, Obstetric Medicine, Gynaecology, Gynaecology/Oncology and Pregnancy Advisory Clinics and Maternity Outreach Services.
About the role:
Reporting to the Nursing & Midwifery Director, this role is responsible for focusing on line management, coordination, and leadership of nursing/midwifery and/or multi-disciplinary team activities to achieve continuity and quality of patient /client care and outcome. Duties for the role will include:
- Ensure that service provision and the activities of the Ambulatory Women's Health Service are person and family centred,
- Coordinating and overseeing nursing/midwifery care and health service delivery for Women’s Health Clinics in maternity, gynaecology and gynaecological oncology; Pregnancy Advisory Service; Maternity Outreach service; Antenatal Education,
- Contribute to the development of, implementation of, and monitoring of corporate policies and processes and lead in their area of expertise.
About you:
- Registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse and Midwife by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and who holds, or who is eligible to hold, a current practicing certificate,
- Ability to review and improve models of care to be person and family centred,
- Registered Nurse/Midwife with at least 3 years, full time equivalent, post registration experience,
- Demonstrated competence in Ambulatory Women’s Health Service nursing & midwifery practice in accordance with the relevant standards
