Our Western Port Manufacturing facility is seeking for Team Members (Process Operators) to join our Operations teams at Hastings. As part of the broader Australian Steel Products Portfolio, we have five major manufacturing departments at Western Port which operate 24 hours, 7 days a week, 365 days a year, delivering a variety of products, innovative solutions and services to export and domestic customers.
To support these operations, we’re creating a ‘Talent Community’ for future Process Operators. By joining this Talent Community, you’ll be considered for opportunities across all departments as they become available over the next 6 -12 months.

What Will You Do?
Process Operators will undertake important processing work that requires a strong safety focus, an eye for detail and plays an integral role in producing our high-quality steel products and ensuring only the finest quality is delivered -- on time, every time.
Operations work can include:
- supporting and promoting a safe working environment
- operating machinery to process and manufacture our products
- operating equipment such as forklift and cranes
- packing, strapping, and monitoring products to ensure quality control
Some positions may involve lifting and manual handling, as well as exposure to heat, heights, and noise. We ensure that all our employees are supported with the necessary training, guidance, and equipment to complete all tasks safely.
Our Process Operators work a 12-hour shift pattern, including a combination of day and night shift. Depending on the department, our operations run 24 hours, 7 days a week, or 24 hours, 5 days a week. Some positions may also require availability for weekend work, overtime, and public holiday coverage.

Previous operations or manufacturing experience isn’t needed, what we care about is your enthusiasm to learn new skills and go above and beyond for your fellow team members. We’re on the lookout for team players who:

Recruitment Process
Our recruitment process is designed to give you the chance to learn more about us while we get to know you. It involves:
- submitting your application
- completing a video interview and an online safety assessment
- attending an online Information Night to learn more about the available roles and shift patterns
- attending one of our face-to-face Assessment Centre
- attending a site tour
- joining our Talent Community for positions commencing from December 2025, with opportunities expected over the following 6 – 12 months; and
- prior to commencing, you will be required to successfully complete pre-employment medical and reference checks.
