What you'll be doing
The Northern Sydney Coastal Network BPT Coordinator possesses a deep understanding of Junior Medical Officer (JMO) wellbeing and training. With a nurturing and compassionate approach, they provide ongoing pastoral care to trainees throughout their program. Demonstrating a strong commitment to collaboration, the Coordinator fosters meaningful relationships with JMO Units as well as internal and external stakeholders to ensure an optimal training experience for every trainee. A true team player, they bring agility, flexibility, and innovative thinking.
The aim of the program is to ensure that the delivery of basic physician training in NSW is: Of the highest quality, Sustainable, Transparent; and In accordance with Royal Australian College of Physicians (RACP) training requirement and clinical service need.
There are 11 BPT networks. Each contains a city teaching hospital, one metro and one rural hospital. Networks are formally established by the NSW Ministry of Health and the RACP in accordance with the reference document: 'Basic Physician Training in NSW June 2014’. Each network is governed by a local Basic Physician Training Network Governance Committee (NGC).
People of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander background encouraged to apply.
Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:
- Capacity to work independently and to undertake a diverse range of tasks ensuring routine and regular liaison with trainees and senior medical officers within the network (ie. regular contact with Medical Administration at ALL network hospitals).
- Familiarity with the public health or medical education system in NSW.
- Ability to work as an effective member of a team in a high pressure, high volume work environment.
