The Nurse Practitioner will provide expert knowledge, skills and extended nursing practice and the coordination of the comprehensive care of patients seeking Alcohol and Other Drugs Service across the various sites within the Cairns and Hinterland Hospital and Health Service.
About your opportunity:
You will provide effective, accountable health care that incorporates application of advanced level of patient care, knowledge, and skills in expanded nursing practice in Alcohol and Other Drug Services (AODS), including assessment and management of clients to ensure safe and optimal care across the various AODS facilities within the Cairns and Hinterland Hospital and Health Service (CHHHS).
Contribute expert nursing assessment and advice to achieve service quality improvement and research activities, including nursing practice review, policy and standard development within a risk management framework.
Be accountable for the application of contemporary human resource management principles to ensure that the facility working environment meets legislative standards and Queensland Health policy.
Effectively manage self and in collaboration with Clinical Nurse Educators and Nurse Unit Manager, develop clinical staff to enable fulfilment of clinical role responsibilities.
Partner with other health professionals to operationalise clinical and corporate governance requirements aligned with the defined scope of practice
