In this role, you will assist in ensuring the framework for Risk and Compliance is in place to meet the requirements for specific programs of work in the Wideband and Dark Fibre delivery business. Using your construction knowledge and skills, you will undertake field inspections using appropriate systems and report on your findings. You will analyse data, investigate trending issues and analyse root cause to develop compliance improvements, working with stakeholders to investigate and resolve blockers and issues. You will ensure network damages, faults, outages and customer complaints are appropriately managed through to effective resolution with the Teams. You will supervise stakeholders undertaking work on behalf of specific projects, be able to lead a Team and have difficult conversations when they are needed.Job Description

Focus of the Role
As a Field Construction Specialist in Wideband and Dark Fibre Delivery you will be responsible for all field validation and verification of construction activities managed by the Teams in Victoria, NSW or Queensland, and also other regions from time to time

What You’ll Do
Monitoring of specific programs of works schedules to endure planned deliverable dates are continually met or exceeded.
Supervision of stakeholders and contractors (who don’t directly report to you) and other Telstra field staff to ensure all work is completed within agreed timeframes, to cost and quality standards and within H&S guidelines.
Conduct Health, Safety Environment and Quality audits.
Conduct incident investigations, report findings and recommend corrective actions.
Monitor HSEQ performance by gathering relevant data and producing statistical reports in close cooperation with the internal customers and stakeholders.
Assist in the development of frameworks to support various risk and compliance elements across the group.
Drive ongoing operational performance and continual improvement.
Promoting HSE compliance, quality assurance and risk management to ensure that a rigorous risk review process is adhered to.
Assist in the development of HSEQ procedures in conjunction with our operational staff, managing and maintaining controls and documentation procedures as may be required.
Participate in cross-functional teams supporting the design, development and deployment of analysis and programs of work to deliver business improvements.
Contribute to the preparation of presentation packs to stakeholders as required.
Contribute to process and system development to ensure the company’s evolving corporate objectives are met.
About You
Strong financial and business planning skills with demonstrated commercial and financial acumen.
Ability to manage complex problems across large, diverse teams and stakeholders.
Demonstrated complex and strategic problem solving skills.
Skills in conflict resolution and leadership.
Sound knowledge of best practice approaches to Compliance and Risk operations and concept.
Proven ability to implement business objectives through measurable and actionable plans.
High level of attention to detail.
Knowledge of relevant HS&E obligations and legislation.
Understanding of Access Networks.
Proven experience and knowledge of telecommunications construction.
Current drivers licence.
Current Austel licence.
