About The Role:
- You will provide essential non-clinical support to ensure the delivery of safe, effective, and high-quality patient care. You will work collaboratively with theatre and hospital staff to coordinate equipment needs, assist in prepping and moving patients and maintain a clean and safe environment.
Liaise with theatre staff to confirm, source, assemble and check equipment for procedures - Restock and maintain supplies; identify and report equipment requiring maintenance.
- Ensure all areas, including theatres and ancillary rooms, are cleaned and prepared between procedures in line with ACORN Standards.
- Transfer patients safely between wards and theatre, assisting with positioning under clinical direction.
- Follow manual handling guidelines and infection control protocols at all times.
- Transport blood, specimens, and items using standard precautions.
Demonstrate behaviours aligned with NSW Health’s Code of Conduct, Values Charter, and Closing the Gap strategy.
You will undergo a comprehensive six-week training program, receiving personalised one-on-one guidance from experienced mentors. Our program includes thorough hospital orientation to ensure you are fully prepared for your role. Ongoing training is a key part of our commitment to your professional development, with regular one-on-one sessions and performance conversations to support your growth.
About You:
You are a reliable, detail-focused individual with a genuine interest in contributing to patient care from behind the scenes. You're willing to learn, take direction, and support clinical staff in a fast-paced environment. You have:
- A strong work ethic and high attention to detail
- Good time management and task prioritisation skills
- Availability to work across a 7-day rotating roster, including at short notice when required
- A respectful, team-oriented attitude and a commitment to providing a premium service
Previous experience in a hospital or perioperative setting is helpful but not essential – full training and mentorship are provided.
