About the Opportunity
This is a unique senior leadership opportunity to play a central role in shaping how mental health and wellbeing support is delivered across Mildura. As our new Operations Manager, you’ll lead the daily operations of the Adult and Older Adult Mental Health and Wellbeing Local, overseeing a multidisciplinary team of around 30 people across psychosocial, clinical and lived experience disciplines.
This unique role offers the chance to lead with purpose, balancing operational excellence with compassionate people leadership and forward-looking strategic thinking. At its heart, it’s about creating a welcoming environment where people feel supported and empowered to thrive. You’ll strengthen connections with our community, our consortium partners, and the people who use our services, with collaboration at the centre of everything you do.

About You
You are a compassionate, people-focused leader who leads with integrity and care. Values-driven and community-minded, you understand the importance of inclusivity and collaboration, creating an environment where people feel supported, respected, and inspired to grow. You’re committed to making services work better for people by embracing diverse perspectives, strengthening trust, and fostering a culture of curiosity and continuous learning.
In addition, you’ll bring:
- Senior leadership experience (5+ years) in mental health, wellbeing, or a similar setting, including lived experience leadership roles
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Allied Health, Nursing, Psychology or another mental health-related field, with AHPRA registration where applicable
- Demonstrated ability to lead and support a diverse team across clinical, psychosocial and lived experience practice areas
- Strong skills in partnership development, data-informed decision making and continuous improvement practices
- A collaborative approach with a focus on safety, quality, and accountability
- Satisfactory National Police Check, Working with Children Check and NDIS Worker Screening Check, or willingness to undertake
- NDIS Workers Orientation module completion certificate
About the Service
The Mildura Mental Health and Wellbeing Local is a community-based service supporting people aged 26 years and over who are experiencing mental health challenges, including those with co-occurring alcohol and drug treatment needs. This service is delivered in partnership between Wellways, Mildura Base Hospital, Mallee District Aboriginal Services and Sunraysia Community Health to ensure care is local, responsive and inclusive.
