Who we are:
Dragonfly stands for a different way of doing e-commerce delivery in Australia. Drawing on over three decades of experience as a market leader in Canada, Dragonfly is a new subsidiary that is hitting the ground running. About the Role:

Your responsibilities include guiding the Sort team through operations set up, unloading trucks, parcel sorting, staging, and cleanup, all within designated timeframes to ensure seamless daily operations. As a leader, you will offer continuous training, support, coaching, and direction to all members of the Sort team.
You will cultivate and nurture strong working relationships with key stakeholders, including Independent Delivery Contractors, ensuring a customer-focused approach in all interactions. Additionally, you will implement and uphold safe working practices to guarantee compliance and maintain a safe work environment for all Dragonfly team members, partners, and station visitors. Your motivation will stem from a commitment to continuous improvement and driving the achievement of KPIs and objectives.
Schedule: Tuesday to Saturday, with start times from 2:00am.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Ability to lift and load heavy packages (up to 25kgs) safely.
  • Plan, direct, and monitor the Sort team to meet productivity and service benchmarks.
  • Effectively prioritise workflows to ensure deadlines are met and adapt to shifting priorities.
  • Ensure proper equipment usage to prevent maintenance issues and operational disruptions.
  • Effectively manage the Sort schedule and staffing levels in line with budgets and forecasts.
  • Ensure strict compliance with all processes, procedures and safety practices.
  • Communicate and direct the linehaul and contractor drivers when receiving or dispatching freight.
  • Ensure the completion of all processes, including set-ups and pack-down, within allocated timeframes.
  • Conduct comprehensive audits and checks for racks and mis-sorts, analysing trends and improving processes to minimise errors.
  • Identify areas of improvement in delivery centre processes and provide any recommendations to the Station Manager.
  • Proactively recruit and onboard Sort Team members in preparation for increased volumes and peak periods.
  • Develop and nurture positive working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders, ensuring effective communication and collaboration that drives the team toward achieving operational goals.
  • Lead by example, offering ongoing coaching and support to team members, empowering them to meet and exceed performance targets while contributing to a high-performing team culture.
  • Continuously uphold and promote Dragonfly Shipping’s core values of innovation, customer focus, teamwork, and diligence in all aspects of your leadership and decision-making.
Required Qualifications and Experience:
  • 2+ years’ experience at a managerial level in a fast-paced environment in the transport/logistics industry.
  • Valid Forklift License (highly desirable).
  • Ability to effectively prioritise workflow to ensure deadlines are met, adapting to shifting priorities and supporting the implementation of continuous improvement.
  • Strong interpersonal skills including leadership, conflict resolution and team building abilities.
  • Demonstrates a positive and professional attitude with a hands-on, team-oriented work style.
  • Proven leadership abilities to guide a team working in a fast-paced environment to ensure accuracy, compliance, and a culture of excellence.
Why Join Dragonfly Shipping?
  • Competitive remuneration package.
  • Dynamic team-oriented, supportive environment.
  • Growth and development opportunities in both Australia and Canada.
  • Opportunity to make a genuine impact and be a part of a rapidly growing Company.
