The Union Dairy Company has an annual processing capacity of 300 million liters of raw milk and began production in 2017. Located in Penola, South Australia – the purpose-built plant provides a state-of-the-art factory and is the newest of its kind in the southern hemisphere.
We are currently seeking experienced applicants for the role of Casual Operator located in Penola, SA
MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Operate a fully automated best in class milk processing facility making milk, cream, skim milk products.
- Operate a best in class highly automated evaporator and spray dryer powder facility making nutritional dairy ingredients.
- Operate a best-in-class automated packing and palletising line.
- Assist in ensuring food safety and quality practices are maintained and support ongoing improvements toward food safety programs.
- Maintain a computerised inventory management system.
- Maintain accurate records.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment using foaming machines, wet scrubbers, sweepers and manual cleaning tools.
- Follow company food safety and quality policies.
SKILLS & EXPERIENCES:
- Experience in a manufacturing environment (evaporators/spray dryers highly regarded)
- Physically fit and flexible to work across various production tasks
- Skilled in machine operation, quality checks, cleaning, and packaging
- Strong communication, attention to detail, and time management
- Team-oriented with a commitment to OHS and Food Safety
- Current forklift licence and experience
This position is casual, working a Monday - Friday roster
Rate: $31.19 per hour including loading
