Cooper & Smith Optometrists (Apart of Brennan and Smith Optometrists) has a permanent position available for an Optical Retail Assistant. To be successful you must be well presented, enthusiastic and have excellent communication skills.
In house training will be provided, however previous experience in a customer service role, computer skills and reception experience will be an asset. The employers seeks staff who thrive on delivering the best customer service possible with a high level of attention to detail.
We are flexible for a full or part time position, depending on the applicant.
Key responsibilities
The Retail Assistant provides support across a number of activities and functions in the day-to-day operation of Cooper & Smith Optometrists, and ensures objectives and standards are met. Activities and functions include:
- Superior customer service, active listening and solution finding
- Using creativity and knowledge to showcase styles that will best suit customers
- Resolving customer queries and issues in an empathetic manner, encouraging return patronage
- Completing daily retail duties (i.e. cash management, store maintenance and stock control)
- Assisting the optometrists and optical dispensers
- Accurate filing of finance documents, including the handling of sensitive financial information and transaction discreetly, confidentially and with integrity
- Answering of telephone as required
- Attending and contributing to meetings with Senior Management and staff as required
- Attending and undertaking company training as required
- A willing to learn the optical industry to deliver spectacles and contact lenses to patients.
- Ability to perform ancillary testing as required by Allied Health Professional
- Other duties as required by Senior Management
