Challenge Employment & Training is calling for expressions of interest for a paid, entry-level Conservation and Ecosystem Management Traineeship starting September 2025.
Located at the Woodford Folk Festival, 87 Woodrow Road, Woodford 4514.
What’s in it for you?
- Earn while you learn with a Certificate I in Conservation and Ecosystem Management (AHC10124) and on top of that, your White Card, First-Aid and ACDC is included in the training
- Gain practical insights and on-the-job experience in environmental conservation on the beautiful grounds of Woodfordia
- Be part of a 20-week paid traineeship, working 38 hours per week
- Hourly wage ranges from $10.49 to $18.84 (excluding super) under the National Training Wage
The kind of work you will be doing
- Clearing invasive plant species
- Operating tools and equipment such as brush cutters and line trimmers
- Planting and regenerating native vegetation
- Learning practical environmental restoration techniques
We’re looking for people who are
- Enthusiastic and reliable
- Positive and ready to learn
- Physically fit and enjoy working outdoors
- Ready to start in September 2025
Bonus: A valid driver’s licence and your own transport will be highly regarded, as travel to various work sites is involved.
Eligibility criteria:
To apply, you must:
- Be a Queensland resident aged 15 or older
- Be an Australian citizen, permanent resident, eligible visa holder, or New Zealand citizen
- Be unemployed or underemployed, and not currently enrolled in full-time education
- Not have previously completed a Certificate I in Conservation and Ecosystem Management
- Not be in full-time or stable employment
- Meet other criteria under the Skilling Queenslanders for Work initiative
