Payments / Merchant Services Sales Representative
Position Overview:
We're seeking a full-time Payments / Merchant Services Sales Representative to drive the growth of our integrated payments solution for existing customers. This role blends proactive outbound sales with a strategic focus on transitioning current clients, particularly those using third-party gateways or ISOs. onto our in-house payments platform. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in merchant services or payments sales, excel in a quota-driven environment, and effectively articulate the operational and financial advantages of integrated payments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Backbook Sales: Conduct outbound sales outreach to existing customers without payments, converting them to our integrated payments platform
- Back Book Migration: Proactively identify and engage existing customers still using third-party gateways or ISOs, and convert them to the integrated payments solution.
- Consultative Selling: Understand the customer's current payments setup, identify gaps or inefficiencies, and present the business case for migration or adoption.
- Cross-Functional Coordination: Partner with onboarding, customer success, and payments operations teams to ensure seamless transitions and high customer satisfaction.
- Generating Custom Quotes: Analyse customer processing statements to develop tailored pricing proposals that highlight cost savings and value of migrating to the integrated payments solution.
- Quota Accountability: Own and achieve individual sales and migration targets aligned with team and company revenue goals.
- Customer Education: Clearly explain the benefits of integrated payments—including cost, support, and reporting advantages—to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Feedback Loop: Provide ongoing feedback to the product and go-to-market teams based on customer objections, product gaps, and migration friction points.
Qualifications:
3–5+ years of experience in merchant services, payment processing, or SaaS-based payments sales.- Deep understanding of ISOs, third-party gateways, and the payments value chain.
- Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales quotas in a consultative selling environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to build rapport and credibility with business owners and operators.
- Experience working with CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot).
- Highly self-motivated, organized, and results-driven.
Preferred Experience:
Experience working in a vertical SaaS environment (e.g., campgrounds, marinas, self-storage, healthcare, legal).- Background in migrating merchants from legacy processors to integrated platforms (e.g., Stripe, Payrix, TSYS).
- Familiarity with payment compliance, underwriting, and merchant onboarding processes.
