About the Role


Babcock is expanding, and we're looking for a strategic, results-driven Portfolio Manager to lead procurement activities in our Land Domain. This is an opportunity to drive innovation, shape category strategies, and lead a high-performing team in a complex, highly regulated environment.


As Portfolio Manager, you'll oversee a team of Category Specialists, ensuring procurement strategies deliver value for money, top-tier service, and compliance with best practices. You'll work closely with key stakeholders, providing market insights, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring sourcing activities align with Babcock's broader business objectives. Your expertise in negotiation, stakeholder engagement, and strategic procurement will be pivotal in driving operational success.


In this role, you'll lead the development and execution of category strategies that support both short- and long-term business objectives. You'll manage supplier performance, oversee key contracts, and ensure sourcing events are aligned with strategic goals. Your ability to navigate complex relationships—both internally and externally—will be key to delivering best-in-class procurement solutions.

To be successful, you will bring:


  • Australian Citizen with a Defence Security Clearance (or the ability to obtain).
  • Tertiary qualifications in Procurement, Supply Chain or Business Management.
  • Extensive experience in strategic sourcing, category management and procurement.
  • Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply Membership level or Australian Supply Chain Institute (ASCI) Certified Course.
