About the Positions
The Postdoctoral Fellow (Level A) or Research Fellow (Level B) will be part of the Research School of Physics, within the Department of Nuclear Physics and Accelerator Applications. These roles contribute to research in nuclear structure physics through nuclear moment measurements and are expected to publish innovative results, present at national and international conferences, and engage in collaborative research.
Academic Level A – Postdoctoral Fellow
The Postdoctoral Fellow will conduct independent research, contributing to high-impact publications and fostering national collaborations. They may assist in course delivery, prepare online learning materials, mark assessments, and supervise student projects. The role includes mentoring students, supporting research staff, and contributing to School operations and outreach initiatives. This position is ideal for early-career researchers looking to build academic experience and work closely with senior researchers, educators, and international researchers in a collaborative environment.
Academic Level B – Research Fellow
The Research Fellow will take on a broader academic role, conducting independent research and contributing to the School’s strategic research goals. They may take responsibility for subject coordination, develop and deliver course content, supervise undergraduate and postgraduate research students, and guide postdoctoral staff. The Research Fellow is also expected to actively lead funding applications and contribute to internal committees and governance. With greater autonomy, the role involves mentoring junior academics and supporting interdisciplinary teaching initiatives. This position is suited to experienced researchers ready to influence the direction of nuclear physics research within a dynamic and collegial academic setting.
