Practice Manager – Upper Beaconsfield GP Practice

We are seeking an experienced, proactive, and highly organised Practice Manager to join our vibrant team at Upper Beaconsfield GP Practice. This is a hands-on leadership role ideal for someone passionate about managing people, improving systems, and helping a practice thrive.
About Us:
- Private billing, AGPAL-accredited general practice
- Located in a supportive community in Upper Beaconsfield
- Established in 2019 with steady growth
- Teaching practice for registrars and medical students
- Services include general practice, minor procedures, employment medicals, travel health, heart checks, and vaccination hub for Cardinia Shire
- Warm, collaborative team including GPs, registrar, nurse, receptionists, and offshore admin support
Your Role Will Include:
- Overseeing daily operations and front desk workflow
- Supporting and mentoring junior reception and admin staff
- Managing rosters, doctor schedules, and room usage
- Liaising with RACGP, PHN, training bodies, and other third parties
- Driving patient engagement initiatives, including MyMedicare and HotDoc optimisation
- Coordinating compliance with clinical guidelines and accreditation standards
- Managing debt collection and following up on outstanding payments
- Supporting marketing, advertising, and community engagement
- Identifying and pursuing growth opportunities, including PHN tenders
- Acting as the go-to person for both clinical and administrative teams
What We’re Looking For:
- Prior experience as a Practice Manager or senior medical receptionist in general practice
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
- High level of initiative, problem-solving, and attention to detail
- Sound understanding of Medicare, private billing, and clinical workflows
- Familiarity with Best Practice, HotDoc, and MyMedicare (preferred)
- Ability to balance day-to-day tasks with strategic oversight
