About the role
We’re seeking a Principal Domain Lead to provide technical and people leadership across critical Operational Technology (OT) domains within our Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) Operations team.
You’ll join an expert group responsible for the monitoring, maintenance, and continuous improvement of the critical 24x7 OT systems, that keep our roads safe, smart, and running smoothly.

Day-to-day, you will:
Set clear priorities, coach team members, and foster a strong culture of performance, inclusion, and wellbeing.
- Oversee system monitoring, issue resolution, and continuous improvement, including high-priority incident management and root cause analysis.
- Review and approve technology change requests and ensure alignment with safety, compliance, and operational risk standards.
- Manage relationships and ensure delivery of preventative and corrective maintenance to operational and regulatory standards.
- Design, test, and govern BC/DR regimes including system backups, redundancy, and recovery readiness.
- Provide expert advice to inform system performance, asset planning, and future infrastructure design.
- Oversee cybersecurity updates and vulnerability remediation across the operational technology environment.
- Build inclusive team practices and ensure fair and bias-free processes in all people-related decisions.
This role will suit someone with a curious mind and transferable skills and experiences, including:
Tertiary technical qualification or trade certificate.
- Extensive professional experience with ITS systems or a technical role relevant to the technical domains.
- Lead team in a critical 24x7 maintenance environment.
- Proven leadership experience in a medium sized or large corporate
- Excellent communication skills, including verbal communication skills, presentations, report writing and the preparation of concise management reports.
- Self-motivated with excellent organisational skills and the ability to quickly prioritise workload, identify tasks and activities, set goals, and develop plans.
