Location Profile

Wollert Primary School is currently in its fourth year of operation, located at 131 De Rossi Blvd, Wollert, in the City of Whittlesea. This area is part of the northern growth corridor of Melbourne, with major housing development present. The school opened in Term 1, 2022 providing for 190 students from Prep (Foundation) to Year 6. It is anticipated that our student enrolment will be in excess of 600 students in 2025. Our staffing profile, inclusive of principal class and varied time fractions, includes 11 leaders, 38 teaching staff, 4 administration staff, 2 psychologists and 22 teacher assistants.

Wollert Primary School is part of a community precinct. It is adjacent to the Kirrip Community Centre and Wollert Secondary College. This provides the opportunity for lifelong learning and strong community connections from birth to adulthood.

Families are supported by first contact at birth with the provision of Maternal and Childcare Health services, continuing with the availability of a range of parenting support programs, including community playgroups, cultural groups, Kindergarten, and specialist allied health services and early intervention professionals. Linking with these services is paramount in ensuring a supportive transition program is offered between kindergarten and primary school.

Strong links between our students across primary and secondary education have been established because of the co-location of our school and Wollert Secondary College. The opportunity for learning across the schools is building, with students, teachers, and families able to share learning opportunities, unique experiences and resources, assisting us to foster powerful community links.

Educational Vision

Wollert Primary School is committed to providing a safe, supportive and inclusive environment for all students, staff and members of our community. We strive to optimise learning, developing the social, emotional, academic and physical self for all. Our school recognises the importance of the partnership between our school and parents and carers to support student learning, engagement and wellbeing. We share a commitment to, and a responsibility for, creating an inclusive and safe school environment for our students.

Wollert Primary School is one of seventeen Supported Inclusion Schools (SIS) to open in Victoria by the end of 2026. As a SIS, we are committed to the provision of inclusive practice in environments where all student needs are catered for and everyone belongs. We pride ourselves in delivering high quality education for all in a learning community that embraces and values the uniqueness and character of every student. Every student at Wollert Primary School has the right to learn and is supported and celebrated in doing so.
As a Supported Inclusion School, Wollert Primary School engages quality inclusive education practices, including the provision of assessment, curriculum and pedagogy that is rigorous and accessible for all students, free of discrimination.

This includes the careful consideration and selection of the following features:

  • the design and physical structures of our learning environments
  • the teaching methods selected and implemented
  • the curriculum framework and accessibility
  • the culture and mindset of inclusion
  • policies and practices that commit to inclusive actions

The physical design of Wollert Primary School supports the school¿s vision of a Professional Learning Community. This ethos underpins the approach to teaching and learning and whole school operations. The design and intent of learning spaces facilitate a Professional Learning Community approach, enabling educators to collaborate, implement high-impact teaching strategies and reflect on the impact on learning in a continuous improvement culture.
