As a Privacy Specialist you will play a crucial role in assessing and advising on privacy risks associated with change activities, particularly those involving Artificial Intelligence (AI), digital transformation, process change, and data-driven customer experiences.
Job Description
In this role you will:
- Conduct privacy risk assessments on key digital and AI-driven change initiatives, providing sensible risk-based recommendations.
- Provide second-line oversight on privacy risk management, advising and challenging first-line teams on risk mitigation strategies.
- Develop, review, and enhance privacy frameworks, policies, and standards to support innovation while managing reputational and regulatory risks.
- Support privacy-focused reviews of third-party providers and establish due diligence approaches.
- Assess and consider AI ethics, algorithmic bias, and discrimination risks in relevant change initiatives.
- Offer SME advice, guidance, and training to business stakeholders and technical teams to further develop privacy awareness.
- Support the team on eligible data breaches, regulatory submissions, engagements and other compliance incidents within required timeframes.
- Develop reporting for senior management, boards, and committees.
- Monitor and interpret regulatory changes and best practices related to privacy, AI, and digital transformation.
Qualifications
- Relevant Academic Qualifications: A university degree in a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years in a relevant Risk Management and/or Compliance role, Privacy experience is highly desirable.
- Stakeholder Management: Excellent communication skills with proven experience in engaging with senior stakeholders.
- Proactive Self-Starter: Ability to work autonomously and take initiative.
- Analytical and Critical Thinking: Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities.
- Forward-Thinking: Willing to constructively challenge the status quo.
- Curious: Eager to continuously learn and develop.
