About the role
The Product Manager is responsible for driving the commercial success of a portfolio of advanced scientific instruments. This role focuses on market strategy, customer engagement, and cross-functional collaboration to ensure the products meet the evolving needs of researchers, clinicians, and commercial users. The ideal candidate will bring a strong blend of scientific expertise, commercial insight, and stakeholder management skills.
Building and maintaining client relationships is pivotal to the success of the portfolio and wider team. As the Product Manager, you will oversee all aspects of designated client relationships, including communicating local market dynamics, competitor updates, identifying growth opportunities and training needs, and ensuring seamless information flow between internal stakeholders and the client. You will also determine the strategic direction of the portfolio in the ANZ market and communicate this with clients, sales and marketing teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review business and marketing/sales plans to achieve annual sales targets, overall business objectives and profitability
- Gather information on market conditions, competitor activities and customer need
- Prepare monthly sales forecasts and product demand forecasts
- Drive learnings and development of sales team in area of product sales to achieve team/function/sales goals
- Manage product launches, including product launch plans with parts creations, price positioning, sales and service training
- Complete and submit tenders by liaising with clients and internal stakeholders to understand customer preferences and price positioning
- Lead market research and analysis to assess customer attitudes to the current product range, and new product introductions
- Develop strategic client relationships for effective business planning and business growth
- Assess portfolio gaps and recommend new target clients
Qualifications and Skills:
- Undergraduate degree in genomics, molecular and/or cell biology
- Proven sales or applications experience within a high-performance culture
- Prior experience and success in a Product Management position
- Experience working within spatial biology, genomics, molecular or cell biology (with good working industry knowledge) in either research or a commercial role
- Strong client management and communication skills
- Financial understanding and pricing/margin calculations
- Proficiencies in Excel, Word and PowerPoint
