Production Horticulturist
Location: Geraldton, WA 6530
Tenure: Full-time, Permanent
Comprehensive salary package from $68,865 pa (plus superannuation)
Required Skills and Experience:
· At least relevant AQF Cert III or Cert IV qualifications or equivalent OR
· Three (3) years employment experience as a production horticulturalist with relevant formal training OR
· Five (5) years employment experience as a production horticulturalist with no formal training
Position Summary:
On behalf of our client, Dojo Legal Australia is looking for a skilled and experienced Production Horticulturalist who can use their knowledge and skills in horticultural farm and is responsible for the entire lifecycle of horticultural crops, from planting to harvest and post-harvest processing, ensuring high-quality produce and efficient operations.
This is a full-time position which may involve weekend or public holidays work and some unplanned hours of work where the need arises (paid accordingly).
Duties and responsibilities:
· Ensure that all material inputs are adequate for respective operations
· Ensure the upkeep of all tractors and implements
· Liaise with Farm Operation Manager/Agronomist/Maintenance Manager where required · Operate various tractors and implements
· Identify and report unusual disease or plant pest signs
· Operate pressurised irrigation systems
· Prepare and apply chemicals to control pest, weeds and diseases
· Coordinate horticultural crop harvesting
· Fumigate soil
· Manage, install drainage systems
· Monitor and manage nursery plants
· Operate spreading and seeding equipment.
